The main research of Dr. Lino Misoguti is the use of ultrafast laser to study the nonlinear optical properties of organic materials. Nowadays, ultrafast femtosecond pulses are very easy to be generate and can be employed to investigate the dynamic and magnitude of nonlinearities. Coherent control methods are also used in order to enhance optical nonlinearities and optimize ultrafast laser pulses. In addition, amplified ultrafast laser can be used for micromachining since small heating is generated during light-matter interaction.
